Setting Up Your Coaching Business on Teachable

We’ll be using Teachable to set up your coaching business.

If you already have a Teachable account, head over to Teachable and click on Creator Login. If you don’t have a Teachable account yet, you can either start for free or click on the link in the description box below to take 10% off Teachable Pro.

Logging In

I'm going to go ahead and log in to my Teachable account to show you how to set up coaching. Once logged in, head over to these options on the left-hand side panel and click on Coaching.

Coaching Features

Coaching on Teachable lets you work with clients one-on-one by defining milestones to track and measure coaching progress, keep notes, and send messages between coach and client—all in one place.

Creating Coaching

Let’s go ahead and click on Create Coaching to get started.

  1. Name Your Offering
    Give it a name, such as One-on-One Coaching with Marina. Once you’re done entering a coaching product name, click on Continue at the bottom.

  2. Set Up Client Intake
    Decide the intake process for customers interested in the service:

    • No intake form
      New clients go directly to checkout.
    • Intake form
      New clients fill out an intake form before going to checkout.
    • Intake form with approval
      Clients complete an intake form and wait for your approval before checkout.

    I’ll select No intake form, and then click on Continue.

  3. Set a Price
    You can choose from the following:

    • One-time purchase
    • Payment plan
    • Subscription
    • Free
    • I don’t know yet

    I’ll select Subscription, and then click on Continue.

Subscription Details

Here, you're able to add all of the subscription pricing details:

  • Set a price (e.g., $199).
  • Choose frequency (e.g., every month).
  • Add a pricing plan name (e.g., “Coaching”).

You can also add:

  • A pricing plan subtitle
  • A description
  • Limit enrollment by cap or expiration date/time.
  • Include a free trial.
  • Enable Buy Now, Pay Later.

Once you set up your payment details, click on Continue.

Start Date and Milestones

  1. Set a Start Date
    Choose between:

    • On the enrollment date
    • On a fixed date

    I’ll select On the enrollment date, and then click on Continue.

  2. Customize Your First Milestone
    Add a title and description to welcome the clients and prepare them for the coaching session. Click on Finish at the bottom when done.

Next Steps

As you can see, One-on-One Coaching with Marina has now been created. Now let’s customize our coaching product:

  • Edit service details.
  • Add a thumbnail.
  • Choose an author.
  • Add a Calendly personal access token.
  • Decide to hide/show your published coaching service.

Under Pages in the left-hand panel, you can edit:

  • Sales Page
  • Post Intake Page
  • Checkout Page
  • Thank You Page

Pricing Options

Under Pricing, you can:

  • Edit existing pricing.
  • Archive pricing.
  • Add new pricing plans.

Upsell Funnel

You can earn more revenue by adding an upsell or order bump:

  • Checkout Order Bump
  • Post-Purchase Offer
  • Thank You Page Upsell

To customize each one, click on:

  • Create Order Bumps
  • Create Post-Purchase Upsell
  • Create Thank You Page Upsell.

Coupons and Client Management

Under Coupons, add a new coupon to lift sales. Under Clients, view prospective clients as well as your client list.
